The Journal of Indian Education (JIE) is a peer-reviewed periodical published in May, August, November, and February by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi.

NCERT encourages original and critical thinking in education. The JIE provides a forum for teachers, teacher educators, educational administrators, and researchers through the presentation of novel ideas, critical appraisals of contemporary educational problems, and views and experiences on improved educational practices. Its aims include thought-provoking articles, challenging discussions, analyses of educational issues, book reviews, and other related features.

This journal reviews educational publications other than textbooks. Publishers are invited to send two copies of their latest publications for review.
