About the Journal

Journal of Physical Education and Well-Being (JPEWB) is a peer-reviewed open access electronic and biannual academic journal published by National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi. The journal is published in English and Hindi in print and online format, and is aimed to advancing high-quality researches in Physical Education and well-being, Sports Sciences, Physical literacy, Yoga, Health, Mindfulness, Lifestyle Behaviours, School health, Inclusive physical education, sports pedagogy, Traditional Indian Sports, and Indian Knowledge System in Physical Education, and related interdisciplinary domains.

The journal has been conceived in response to the transformative vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020; National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS) 2022; and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023 which recognise Physical Education as an integral component of holistic education and emphasize the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of learners.

It also encourages interdisciplinary perspectives, innovative pedagogical practices, field-based studies, policy analyses, book reviews, and critical reviews that contribute to strengthening research and professional practice in these areas, in Indian as well as global perspective.

The journal aspires to serve researchers, faculty members from national and state level institutions such as NCERT, RIE, SCERT, CBSE, and DIET, physical education professionals, policymakers, curriculum developers, schools, colleges, universities, and other stakeholders by fostering a vibrant culture of research and knowledge dissemination in Physical Education and Well-being.

Journal follows the NCERT Journals Publication Policy (2025) and adhere to internationally accepted publication ethics and peer review standards.

Scope

The Journal of Physical Education and Well-Being welcome original research, theoretical contributions, systematic reviews, policy analyses, field-based studies, and innovative practices that advance knowledge in Physical Education &Well being, Sports Sciences, Health Education, Sports Inclusivity, Yoga education, Indian Knowledge System in Physical Education, and allied disciplines. The journal encourages interdisciplinary works that contributes to understanding physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being across educational and community settings.
